Warped and Twisted
Standing tall at 2.3 meters and mounted on a solid timber base, this sculpture is inspired by a steel order made by a previous employer. In an attempt to save money, he purchased a full sheet of steel cut into strips instead of buying the correct length directly from the rack. Unfortunately, the strips arrived warped and twisted, making them useless for their intended application. However, it is this twisted steel that influenced the main structure of this sculpture. I filled in the spaces between the swirls with my interpretation of leaf skeletons.
